Undergraduate Minors

Undergraduate Minor: Assistive Technology (15 credits) (AT)

The minor in Assistive Technology provides undergraduate students with background knowledge in special education and assistive technology. Completing this minor may partially fulfill requiremtnts for licensure in special education in Virginia.


Undergraduate Minor: Early Childhood Education (15 credits) (ECSE)

The Minor in Early Childhood Education is designed to provide undergraduate students with background knowledge and completion of the minor. It will also partially fulfill requirements for licensure in early childhood special education in Virginia. The minor will give students a head start in completing the Early Childhood Special Education graduate-level program. The minor program requires five three-credit courses for a total of 15 credits. The required form, Change/ Declaration of Academic Program and must be signed by your adviser. Undergraduate Minor: Education Studies (18 credits) (ESTU)

A Foundation for Your Future. The Minor in Education Studies is intended as an introduction to the field of education. The minor is appropriate for students who plan to teach as well as students who students in other fields of study.


Undergraduate Minor: Mild Disabilities (15 credits) (MDIS)

The Special Education undergraduate minors are designed to provide students with background knowledge in special education. The Mild Disabilities minor is designed to provide students with background knowledge in teaching students with mild/moderate disabilities and to allow students to begin coursework applicable to Virginia teacher licensure. Completing this minor partially fulfills requirements for licensure in Special Education in Virginia. The Special Education undergraduate minors are designed to provide students with background knowledge in special education. The Severe Disabilities minor is designed to provide students with background knowledge in teaching students with severe disabilities and to allow students to begin coursework applicable to Virginia teacher licensure. Completing this minor partially fulfills requirements for licensure in Special Education in Virginia.
