Undergraduate Minor: Education Studies (ESTU)

A Foundation for Your Future

The Minor in Education Studies is intended as an introduction to the field of education. The minor is appropriate for students who plan to teach as well as students who students in other fields of study.

Coursework (18 credits)

Required Courses (6 credits) - Students will take both courses listed below.

  • EDUC 300 Introduction to Teaching
  • SOCI 382 Education in Comtemporary Society

Elective Courses (12 credits) - Students will take four of the five courses listed below.

  • EDUC 303 Politics of American Education
  • NCLC 312 Images and Experiences of Childhood: Social Construct, Literature and Film
  • EDLE 412 Schools and the Law
  • EDLE 420 Organization and Management of Schools
  • EDIT 413 Technology, Society, and Culture of Learning
